The three-quarter sized 1911 comes in and packs a punch!
While this one might not win two world wars, it certainly won over my OCD; it can be field stripped with the right tools, and reassembled without a hitch. I've had this model since October so it's got some wear on it. Shipping was lengthy but the center-piece arrived without a scratch. I live in Canada so I was surprised it even came in in the first place. If it can get here, it'll go anywhere, so non-US residents rest assured.
The overall quality of the model gets a 4 out of 5. It's flashy, and made out of a steel alloy. It won't dent if dropped but scratches are to be watched out for.
Accuracy is complete, followed a basic field-strip tutorial on YouTube for a real 1911 (which I've never owned since I live up North) and, y'know, it just worked. Everything's there, simply smaller.
The materials used are clearly tailored for looks when displayed rather than functionality since this baby does not fire, and it's got a great shine to it. If you want it as close to a real one as possible, the "grey" variant is for you. It's not blue-stained, but it looks pretty damn good.
Fidgeting wise, it's got you covered. Maybe just don't release the slide lock on an empty mag, it can cause the magazine follower to get caught, and potentially come out. It's a real pain to get back in afterwards.
Hope that you enjoy it as much as I do if you get yours, see ya!
Initially I thought I wasn't getting it because it was taking long to get to me and for $90 I didn't have crazy high expectations but bought anyway because the it looked so cool in the ads. Overall I'm blown away at the quality of this product. It's fully functional down to the way a real 1911 works and even breaks down like a real 1911. It's all metal, no plastic, and cycles just like the real thing. The slide locks back on an empty mag, safety only works when the hammer is back and there's a grip safety. Ejecting and inserting the mag makes a satisfying sound similar to a real 1911. A lot of fun to use and mess around with! Comes with dummy rounds and some oil for the slide.
If you're willing to wait I would say it's worth the wait and price.
The packaging is very nice and professional and everything is as advertised. Owned this for about a month now and zero issues at all. The shell ejection is very crisp and snappy. Feels just like my real one!
